HD Fairing Bracket ?

Anyone make brackets to mount a HD fairing to a Nomad. I've searched but can't seem to find a definitive answer. I've looked at gadgets site but would rather find some premade.

In my internet travels, I came accross this site
http://nomad.eurekaboy.com/fairing.htm

The guy goes through his creation of brackets for an HD ElectraGlide fairing for his Nomad. And he has pictures.

The easiest thing to do though is probably to Joe a message as stated by MT.

Most of it depends on your level of fabricating skills and available tools. If you can fabricate stuff and have the tools (or a good friend with them), it might be cheaper to fab your own (and you'll get a slightly more "custom" look). If you're like me (no skillz/no toolz), Joes brackets were the only sensible way to go. They work well and are reasonably priced. And don't forget Joes superior customer care (even after the sale).

I made up my own brackets this summer, it took a couple attempts to get them right, but they are installed and working well.

They are fairly simple to fabricate. I found a template on another site and used it as a guide to fab up my own. Like Chris said, if you have a few tools and some patience, you can do it yourself and save some money. In addition to that you can modify the brackets to get the fairing to fit the way you want it to on the bike. From what I have heard the prefabricated brackets push the fairing up and away from the forks, but I do not know for sure. If you are interested, send me a PM with your email address and i will send you the PDF file with the template.

I made my own brackets because I had 4x2 risers and wanted to be able to have access to the radio without it being blocked by the risers. It took some fiddling, but I got the fairing to sit where I wanted it without interfering with anything.

Thanks for the responses. I sent Joe a email yesterday and he responeded right back. I ampicky about how I want it to sit on the bike though. If someone has pics of a fairing mounted with Joe's brackets would be great. I have a Reckless fairing w/6x9's on it now but like the look of the gauges up front much better.

DR-sent you a pm

You can basically take the chrome brackets that mount your windshield and use them for a pattern. Where they bend to bolt to the front of the triple tree it would need to be straight. I'm at work and can't post any pictures from here.

I take it this is what you did when you mounted yours? Pics would be great. I'm just trying to get all the info I can before I start.

Don Myers (dmyers from here) made them for me. They're 1.25" diameter and a hair over 12" tall. They fit me well.

This thread shows a couple of pictures how mine is made. I have since added two more speakers in the middle holes but the main brackets are the same.
