Scala Rider Q2 Multi set

Anybody have any comments on the Scala Rider Q2 Multi set headset units. Any info on rider and passenger as well as bike to bike communication would be greatly appreciated.

I have the TeamSet (rider to passenger set), and actually used it on two helmets bike-to-bike during the Custer trip, and it worked great. I imagine the Q2 would be even better. Buy it!

Dougster,

How far away were you from the other bike and still getting communications?

Scala Rider Q2 Multi set

I have the q2 multiset and love it. My wife and I use it as driver and passenger. I have it paired with my cell phone and use the mp3 plugs(on the multiset only) to hook into my XM radio.

Dougster,

How far away were you from the other bike and still getting communications?
Surprisingly, it varied. Sometimes, I could talk to Mike at 40 or 50 feet away, other times it had to be closer. A few times, it was a little farther, I guess.

I was pleased with the results, simply because my TeamSet is for rider and passenger. So, not a lot of distance, but we WERE able to communicate pretty good. I think the Q2 would be even better because you are supposed to be able to communicate up to 1500 feet away.

Went ahead and pull the trigger on buying a set. Got them for $232 on ebay. Can't wait to get them and give them a try.

That's a good price for the set. You should really enjoy them.

That is the difference between the methods used for commo. The Teamset I believe is Bluetooth which is only rated for 33 ft.

I looked at the specs sheet for the teamset and the q2 multiset. Both are Bluetooth but the q2 is version 2 and the teamset is 1.2. Doesn't specify anything else as to the communications.

Interesting as v2 doesn't add that much range.

Found a site that talked about bluetooth and the different versions and classes. These are a class 1 which was stated for 100+ meters while a class 2 was less than 10 meters. There's some of it but not the whole distance.

This is another item I will never own.. It might be a good thing on occasions from rider to rider, but never with a female pillion. I just yell over my shoulder to her, and she knows better than to talk for 14 hours straight, unless it is important, like we just passed a place giving away cold beer for FREE!
