motorcycle lift table
can any one suggest a good lift table as i have seen the jacks, and am not impressed. they look to narrow so when a wheel is removed it would tip over??? i would putting a 05 nomad on it so 1000 lb table should work. or does anyone have one for sale?? sorry i forgot to say i have a homemade jack to get the wheel off the ground but not enought to get it out from under the bike.

You still need a jack if you have a table because you can't lift the front or the rear wheel off the ground while on a table. Some tables have an opening for the rear wheel but you still have to come up with a way to support the bike with the wheel off. And again how are you going to get the front wheel off? JC Whittney has some good tables.

If your concerned you can get a MC Jack and then Idaho Jack adapter on here for the Nomad 1500/1600 bikes to make it even MORE stable. As others have stated with a table you still need to JACK up the front or BACK wheel and get one that has a removable rear section to get the tire OFF. Table is NICE if you have the space. For many of us however a Table is not feasible as no place to store one and still use the space (in my case my car to park in where the bike is put to do work on it. Lots of good MC jacks on the market now for a cheap $$ and save to buy more BLING for your ride Scott

I have both the Motorcycle jack and a Harbor Freight air over hyd. lift table and I would hate to give up either of them the only time I used the jack was to check the bearings in my steering head I have a car scissors jack that I welded a plate on top of it to put under the bike when it is on the lift so I jack it up a little at a time and adjust the straps holding the bike as I go up. But the main thing is how much easier the lift makes it to clean and polish the bike and to work on so you are not crawling around on the floor.

The bike jacks work well, especially with Idaho's adapter and strapping the bike to the jack. I'll lift mine all the way up, and have had the front wheel & forks removed as well as the rear wheel and swingarm at the same time.
My neighbour has the lift table and while its handy for some jobs it takes up a lot of room in the garage for a item that you really don't use all that often. He has the Harbour Freight version.

It would be great if we had all of the room in our garages for everything that we wanted and thought we needed. I'd love to have a lift table but with all of my tools there is no room left. The MC jack only takes up a couple of square feet and my adapter can be hung on the wall. (with the ribbon tied to it of course)

I picked up a table before I left for this vacation down south. It's made by Bend but comes under the name of Ranger. Here's a link to what I got.
http://equiptool.com/i-365780-ranger...heel-vise.html I have to pick it up the following weekend after I get home. It's down in the Olympic peninsula in WA.. It comes with the two side attach. too.... . Picked it up for $750. retails for almost $1200.

I have a Harbor Freight lift table, model # 91764 that I picked up on sale for $298.00 with a 2 year warranty. I mounted a Harbor Freight wheel chock, model # 97841 to it and drive my bike right on it and am able to dismount without the bike falling over. I also have a jack that I use occasionally. I store one bike on the lift table and one on the jack during the winter. I use the lift table to do routine maintenance, oil changes, tires and to clean. I seldom use the jack.

Thanks Bud, but like you said,.... I hope it fits. It might force me to do a little spring cleaning in the garage when I get home.

I have a air/hydraulic lift table from harbor freight that works great. Also have a Larin jack for those occasions when the table just isn't what you need. The jack will do everything you will ever need it to do combined with bud's jack adapter. That said the lift table does take up a lot of space in the garage but is really nice to put the bike on it for general maintenance and cleaning. Nice not having a sore back from bending over and crawling around on the floor to work on the bike.
Bud did you notice anything familiar. DC
