Watch out for that Side-Cover bolt

When removing that Phillips head bolt that secures your right side-cover, it can slip down in behind the frame work and be difficult to locate if you don't catch it coming out. I spent 20 minutes retrieving mine this morning. It was caught between the frame and some rubber tubing, and I've previously lost the one on my Classic.

Watch out for that Side-Cover bolt

I thought I was the only person to lose that little bugger...and I have lost mine twice ! Found it each time after many minutes of fumbling around beneath the fusebox, etc.

Watch out for that Side-Cover bolt

I took mine off in the garage one time, laid the bolt on the cement and my 80 lb. Lab walked by, sniffed of it and swallowed it. I monitored the backyard for days hoping she'd poop the thing out, but I could never find it.

Had to go to the Kawa dealer and get another one.

Thanks for sharing that tidbit Trip. I'll have a rough time getting that visual out of my head.

Watch out for that Side-Cover bolt

Trip, If that were me...I wouldn't be able to find it until the next time I mowed the yard, then the mower would pick it up and shoot it through the most expensive piece of glass around.

Really though, I am thinking I would have just gone straight to the dealer vs. sifting through dog crap.....or send the dog down to doc (CVOD)

Actually, I didn't sift, just looked. I wasn't enthused to dig any further for a .66 cent bolt.

Watch out for that Side-Cover bolt

Great, I can add that to the list - I dropped my Right Rear Gas tank bolt into the battery box (amaxing how much stuff they have in the way to remove a battery) for a thirty minute retrieve and I dropped my Breakaway phillips tiny screw right into the area you mentioned Sunday for another 30 minutes.

Damnit :(" title="" border="0"/>
