Reagan Speaks Out Against Socialized Medicine

Wow, this is like a message from 1961 forcasting what is going to happen ....it is amazingly accurate on what is happening right now.

This is a must listen to.

I heard tonight on the "ED SHOW" a guest defending a one-payer system for health care.

He commented that if FDR had listened to the popular vote, Social Security would not exist.

If LBJ had listened to popular vote Medicare would not exist.

He stated this in the PROUD fashion of a Liberal as if these two programs were the greatest thing that has happened to American citizens since sliced-bread... when in fact... these two programs are directly at the heart of what is wrong with America (in my opinion).

The problem with this person's statement is that the politicians (who are supposed to represent the people) did not listen to those they represented.

In other words (and strictly my opinion); if these two politicians (and the legislative body of that day) would have listened to the popular opinion -- these two blood-sucking; money-sucking; non-productive enabling programs would not have existed.

Not only that... but the entitlement programs of Social Security and Medicare are at the heart of what is wrong with the U.S. for the long run. These two programs allow for excessive taxation on the productive members of society.

The "treasure-chests" of these two programs are where politicians go to steal money for other government programs that have run out of money, in part, due to "pet-projects" of the pork-barrel variety.

If these two programs would never have existed... it would be my guess that people would have to have figured out that they have to work and contribute to their OWN well-being instead of depending on the rest of the productive members of our society to take care of them. This, of course, would have been made somewhat easier since their wages would not have been taxed over their working lifetime to cover such programs.

In addition... without the existence of these programs, politicians would not have their two most powerful weapons with which they weild their power over the ever-growing, helpless masses.
