Many thanks to Ross (Trosco) for stopping by on his way through these parts to show me how to do the throttle body cleaning "just right" and also explain other stuff he did to upgrade my bike while his buddy in Charlotte owned it..he is a smart cookie....He also discovered that the choke was not all the way in as it looked, but because the plastic/rubber sleeve it snugs up to was "loose" the choke was always on and for that reason believes my mileage has been so consistently poor..
He also checked out the fuel mixture on the EFI gizmo and gave it a tweak or two... Wonderful to have such knowledge as he does... Just wanted to publicly recognize Ross for his generous help.... Regards,

... For sure it was nice of Ross to stop by and help you with the throttle body cleaning and other helpful info. But, being as your bike is fuel injected, it does not have a choke. The purpose of that cable is only to give you a fast idle when starting, usually when temps are a bit cooler and the engine don't want to idle so good. After I installed my throttle lock, I had no use for the cable so I took it off cause I needed the mounting spot for my Stebel horn. :)

Mike, you crack me up! Hey when we do your power steering, can we do the front main seal on my pickup too?
Bob, was glad to help. Hope it helps a bit with your mileage. And it doesn't matter if we call it the choke or the fast idle control or the throttle enrichening device or just the who-ha over there by the horn, we know what we did and why we think it might help your mileage. I'll get a hold of George this week and see if we can't get those risors on and your pieces back to you! And you are paying the good deed forward to George with the risers so maybe we are getting something started here?

Well, I have taken a couple of 75 miles rides in the country...the fill up showed that I got 36.8 mpg, better than I had been getting, and it runs more smoothly, just according to "feel" and my ear....Next year I will probably get the mod that eliminates the rattly whatchamacallits near the throttle bodies and hope to be able to use regular gas...Might try 89 octane for ahwile instead of 93....manual states 91 I believe and I could also search for a station around here that has that...
Nice ride yesterday, but chilly towards the end......better get some chaps...

No mod to air intake yet aside from K&N filter..
Might do it next spring..other priorities are more important to me, among them installing the Stebel horn that came in the mail a week or two ago adn another is a headlight modulator... Thanks for the suggestion..

another is a headlight modulator...
Don't wait on that!! I swear people wait twice as long now when I'm approaching with the modulator before they make their turns. I went with the Kisan, BTW. Incredibly easy to install. Just remove the headlight, plug the Kisan in, plug the headlight on to the Kisan, and run the sensor out the back. I tie-wrapped the sensor to one of the cables, and that was it.

Many thanks..
