Pics from the Black Hills, SD

Hi everyone. My wife and I just returned from five days in the Black Hills of South Dakota. She had a conference in Rapid City, and I went along to goof around! We rode the Nomad down there, about 425 miles each way. On Saturday and Sunday, we spent the days riding around the hills and into Custer State Park where next year's rally will be held. I'd been there before, and it's a great place to ride. Waterman and Ells have shared some info from their rides there. By the way, Waterman and Ells, did either of you pass a red/black Nomad near the entrance to Crazy Horse on Saturday the 28th? A Nomad with Colorado plates passed us and waved, and I noticed the words "Fort Collins" on the rear fender. It was a blue Nomad with two people on it. My wife and I looked for the bike when we got to Custer, but we couldn't find it. After reading that you guys were down there, it got me thinking if it was one of you.
Anyways, here are some pictures from our trip. I can't get Photobucket to resize them right now, so I apologize if they're too big. I'll try to fix them later if it cooperates.

Here's a view of the four dead presidents from a lookout on Iron Mountain Road. (awesome road!)

This is one of the "pig tail" bridges that Ells was talking about earlier. You completely curve around on the bridge, thus the name "pig tail." We'd just ridden across the bridge on the top, and now we're heading under it. Very, very cool.

This is a view of riding through one of several tunnels carved into the hills. It's a single lane only, so you must honk your horn before entering, as no one can come through from the other side when it's occupied. It's also a good place to bark off the V & H baggers!

Here's a picture of my lovely wife Jamie and I by an outlook in Custer State Park. Normally, you would be able to see more of the hills behind us, but the ranger told us that smoke from California forest fires had blown in and made things hazy.

Yep, t that describes my bike, it was Vicki and me. I remember passing two folks on a red/black Nomad in that general area, its a small Nomad World! Dang, I recall you posting here that you were going to be in the area around then but was thinking it was going to be the day after we left so didn't follow up. We spent Friday working our way north from Custer to Lead with Waterman and then came back down 385 Saturday morning without Waterman and heading home. What a great area to ride, uh?

Ells, our plans changed from what they were originally, and we came down a day earlier.
Yes, what a great place to ride. It will be a great place to have the rally.

Ryan,

Sorry we didn't meet up. It is a fantastic area to ride and will be fun next year when the Nomads invade.
