True Dual or Bagger Dual

My goat bladder has to be replaced, $631 from the dealer. So I am thinking it is time to get aftermarket pipes. I am looking at the Cobra True Dual and the V&H Bagger Dual, is there a consensus on which is better? Also wondering if I have to get a fuel processor if I change the pipes, from what I have read here seems like a lot of guys do both.

Thanks

Its better if you add a fuel processor, but not absolutely neccessary. And both brands of pipes are good, it just depends on what you like best.

I wouldn't buy the V&H. They have a history of the rear headpipe cracking.

Just my opinion.

most on here seem to go with the vance and hines baggers but in my opinion the cobra true dauls with billet tips offer better quality, better warranty and better customer service.i've had my true dauls for three
years now with no issues.

I have the Cobra true duals with billet tips on my Nomad, the wife has the Vance and Hines on her Nomad. The V&H are louder than the Cobra's. Both sound good, it's just a matter of preference. Neither Nomad has a fuel processor. My Nomad has 69000 mile with about 39000 mile on the Cobra's, the wife's Nomad has 48000 mile with about 35000 mile on the V&H. So far the head pipe hasn't cracked on the V&H . Either the Cobras or the V&H cost less than $631. If I were going to keep the stock exhaust and needed a goat belly I would get a used one off eBay, it would cost considerably less or some of the Kawanow members may have a goat belly to sell.

I say you contact a few of us for a new hamburger grill, the goats bladder, and save a ton of money all the way around and have a nice quiet bike.

I had the V&H, but later wished it had some sort of crossover to balance exhaust pressures. Doesn't Cobra offer something to that effect? That would be my suggestion

In my opinion the Cobras looking nice and are better quality. Vance and Hines (especially with the Ultimate Baffles) sound a lot better and are about $100 less.

I'm not sure if it's the case here, but Cats sometimes get plugged and need replaced. I recently heard of a rash of them being stolen! ??? apparently the metals in side can be worth the effort

I would install the Cobra pipes over the Vance and Hines. Cobra to me is a more quality pipe. Vance and Hines are a bit louder though. Depends on what you want, quality or loudness.

I got my '06 with the V&H already on. I like the sound and no problems at all. I do not like the design where they did not carry the heat shield through the turn to the left side.

The Cobras look good but I have had Cobras that got early rot and they did not honor the warranty so I am not sure about the better quality thing.

One of the nicest set of pipes I have ever had were Roadhouse.

I bought a set of V&H pipes and a fuel processor about a year ago because I thought that I needed to do both at the same time. I got the new exhaust on and never got around to getting the fuel processor installed. I have put about 8-9,000 miles on and the bike runs good without the fuel processor. In fact I have heard about all the problems some have getting them tuned, I may not ever install mine.
