Would you hold it against me?

Most of you are aware I went down back in August and suffered a pretty good leg injury. The bike wasn't hurt too badly.

I have the parts coming in over the next week or so and, over the winter, I'll replace the damaged parts. Nothing too serious and nothing too challenging. The toughest is going to be the handle bars and that's not going to take long at all.

Anyway, it seems my lawsuit is coming to the end. No one has set any final number but, between m attorneys experience and that of one of my friends that was in a similar situation, I may be looking at a sizable sum coming to me after everyone gets their cut.

With all that in mind, I was playing the what if game - you know the one - it's the one you play when you get that lottery ticket in your hand....

So, I've been looking at trading in the Nomad in the spring and getting a Road King. Of course I had to go shopping for all the accessories, including a tour pack. So, what do you think? Would you hold it against me? I know I'd have to go to the "enthusiast" level, down from the full fledged, flag waving, Nomad nation member.

BTW, the Road King is the only H-D I like and seem to "fit". I feel cramped on al the others, including the full dresser tourers.

I wouldn't hold it against you! Can't speak for anyone else on here, though.

Russ, do what you feel you would like to do. Your bike, your ride. We won't hold anything against you. However you will now have to join Scott's, Greg's and Dave's H.O.G. Club - "Horny Old Geezers".

I went riding with a friend of mine this summer that has a Vulcan Classic and a neighbor of his that has a Road King. I was on my 2005Suzuki Boulevard. I just loved the look of that Road King and because of that I started looking. I have been a proud owner of a 2004 Nomad because of that for a couple of months now. Long story short, I would not hold it against you if you got a Road King!!

Hold it against you? Hell no. We are more apt to feel sorry for you. Owning an inferior piece of equipment is nothing to be proud of.

Ask Brad, I understand his equipment is quite inferior.

Nope. My bike doesn't leak oil. I guess it's because it doesn't have a clutch pushrod shaft seal.

Well it might not make sense to you TC but I guess what I was trying to say is that style wise according to my eye sight the Nomad looked similar to the Road King. I am not a big fan of HD so I did not go in that direction but don’t have any thing against people that ride them. I will say it again that I am proud of MY NOMAD.

OK got it.
I was trying to figure out if you like the Road King why you bought the Nomad.
Sometimes I'm not good at figuring out what people mean.

And therefore you have to pull your transmission to change out the drive belt! What a great trade off???

I wouldn't blame you a bit if you bought yourself a Road King, They are as nice a bike as any.
