Fairing Speakers

I have the WideOpenCustom fairing with Jensen Aquatronics speakers and Jensen receiver. They are OK but I am looking to upgrade those speakers.

I have heard the Infiniti speakers. Not moving they are great but on the road they certainly lose some high fidelity. I am looking at Kenwoods but also speakers from Boss and Pyle that appear reasonably priced. The red Boss theme would tie into my red pinstriping project.

I am looking for some recommendations.

Thanks in advance.

Fairing Speakers

I just got my polk audio db521's there waterproof I'll post my findings when I hook them up
I paid $117 shipped for 4 of them
A motorcycle isn't exactly the ideal audio platform so I wouldn't expect super results from any system

skiman, where did you source yours? I saw those through Amazon.com and the ratings were good for those speakers.

I just bought a set of Boss speakers and was surprised at how well they sound but have no idea how long they will last but for $38.00 on E-bay I can't go wrong and waterproof to.

I saw the Boss speakers on eBay Jim but I am not sure about the quality. The price is sure right.

Fairing Speakers

Well my son-in-law was over tonight he has a recording studio and knows sound better then most we ran the DB521's and he was impressed with them we ran them on my tube amp at 4ohms and my carver at 8 ohms and they sounded sweet the bass is limited to 60hz so you can't pump boom boom bass 5.25 inch speaker just don't do bass very well but these do a decent job
Now the if the head unit I buy does as good a job as my tube or carver did I'll be happy,,,we only played them at maybe 10-12 watts and they were loud with only 2 going, 4 should really sound good at that power setting louder then I would care to ride around at .
The bass may improve after the break in good

He confirmed what I have been reading speakers don't just blow. head units and amps blow speakers by A..too much power or B..too much distortion

I looked at the Kenwoods but just bought the PolkAudio DB501's after talking to a local car audio shop. They also have a great look for the black fairing. Some of the Ebay vendors won't ship to my US address so I got them from Crutchfield.com. They had free shipping and tossed in something else I wanted as a freebee, so it worked out the same.

I have to say, so far I am very impresed with Crutchfield. Thanks for the responses.

Anything that has to do with car (or bike) audio.........Cruthhfield is where I go. They are great to deal with, and super fast on shipping.
