Aftermarket Bag Rails

There's a couple sites on eBay selling aftermarket bag rails for about half the price of Kaw Fire and Steel units. Anyone have any experience with these?

They just don't look quite right in the pic's.

Aftermarket Bag Rails

i think someone in texas is making them. and several people are selling them. i have been bidding on them. i will get a set one of these days after every one gets there's. they started out with a used set. that may have been the model they copied off of. maybe they are coming from china. hard telling. some one on this site has probably bought a set and can elaborate. feed back looks good on them.

I got a set last year, and after figuring out the proper way to mount them, they look nice and have held up well. I actually got two left sides the first time, but the seller corrected it quickly. Best advise is to find a set that end during the middle of the week, stay up late and bid last minute. The ones that end on the weekend always seem to go for more. As I recall I got them for under $100 and fely they are well worth it.

I was glad to see those too. I need a set before I head to the dragon next year and wasn't looking forward to paying full price.

Thanks for the replies. We may be bidding against each other. I have my max bid as with the extra shipping I have to pay everything is way more expensive.

Aftermarket Bag Rails

I won a set of the top and bottom rails from the same seller on Ebay over a year ago. They are well contructed and the chrome finish is holding up very well. The top rails are the four rail version. My only complaint was the rubber gaskets are very thin and only hold up for a year or so. Then you have to replace them with something a little thicker. Thicker gaskets make alignment in the original holes a royal pain. I ended up getting a set of faucet washers and using them as replacements. I paid a little over $100 for the top rails and around $80 for the bottom rails.

In fairness to TC and myself (I raised the same point, just not as "eloquently" as TC)...How would anyone know what you're talking about?
(putting on moderator hat)
Your question was ambiguous - you could have meant top rails or lower rails. eBay is a big place, if someone is referring to a specific product, they should provide a link to it. Just because you knew what you were talking about doesn't mean someone else would.
