Reflective Safety Vest

The other day I saw a guy riding down the road on his bike with one of those reflective bright orange safety vest like you see the highway workers wear. hmmmm I though that would be good for night riding. Anything to make us visible to cagers..

My riding jacket from Olympia motor sports has reflective piping all around it. Any good riding jacket has that feature.

Yes, who decided that basic black would be the uniform of motorcycle riders? At least cruiser riders.

I've got a Harley patch on the back of my jacket, not to be a wannabe, but it was the only reflective one I could find at the time.

It's about 10 inches long and when I'm on the bike its just above the backrest. It is way reflective, can be seen for over a block.

Check out the Aerostich outfits. The Roadcrafter jackets and one piece suits have a reflective strip about 3" wide across the back, a smaller one on the left chest and also on the bottom of the pant legs. Their Darien jacket has the reflective strips as well, on the back, front and sides.

When I was in the Marines it was a rule that all marines that rode motorcycles had to wear a bright orange safety vest.

I noticed that most riders I saw when I was over in the UK, which was not many, wore orange vests. I wondered if that was law over there ???

I made a stop at the Air Force Academy and had to wear one of those to get in, had to leave my license to insure I'd bring it back.

Leads me to wonder why Kawasaki doesn't incorporate reflective paint or strips on their bikes. Drop that in the suggestion box..... Joe

I think that would probably hurt sales vs. increasing them.

If you leave it up to the manufacturer to do those things then the price of the bike climbs. Those reflective items aren't but a few bucks. I think 3m and similar companies make reflective materials that can be added to the bike and clothing too.

Yeah, can you imagine what Kawasaki would want for a reflectorized stripe? Those plastic strips on your saddlebag are $40 each I believe.

My Tourmaster jacket has reflective piping on it as well. I think the emblem on the back which is just below the collar area is also reflective.
