Drive In Night

I took my son to the drive in tonight, its a yearly thing weve done for a few years now.The place has been there for about 60 years and still looks original to a great extent, its like going back in time and its only five minutes from home. We saw Ingloriuos Basturds, which I liked, and District 9 that I thought was kind of dumb. Where else do you get a double feature for $11.00

Drive In Night

I thought you meant drive in, like a burger joint. I didn't think they had drive in movies anymore.

Drive In Night

This place is packed on most Fri & Sat nights. I should go more often, because I think its a great idea. I don't have to leave my truck and walk anywhere, I bring my own snacks and a couple beers, I can smoke my cigar while watching the movie, and theres usually plenty of eye candy wandering around prior to the movie starting. How do you top a Sat night like that, all while spending time with my son as well. And I was back home when it ended within about four minutes, all without walking a step.

Drive In Night

There is a drive-in 55 miles away that is still in use. The one here in Pocatello closed last year but was a fav spot on weekends in the summer. Nice to know that there are still some in use and thriving.

Drive In Night

The only remaining drive-in theatre in North Dakota is 45 miles from me in Williston. As Ring said, it's a very cool place to go, as it's a pretty rare sight these days. It seems to be a busy place, and I hope it is open in a few years so I can take my daughter there. This is the last weekend it's open for the year.

We had one locally until right around 1970. I can remember as a kid going there with the family at least once a month. Great memories.

Me too, but now thirty years later I actually see the movie when I go to the drive in.

Drive In Night

Ah yes, the Drive In movies. Used to go as a kid myself, and when my wife and I were dating in the '70s, we went several times. Also took my two oldest sons when they were small. Like Mitch, I have a lot of great memories.

Drive In Night

We have one in Rome, NY about 1/2 hour from me. It is the same one my Dad and Mom used to take us kids to on sometimes weekends. Haven't been there in over 30 years.
I still remember the jingle they played on the screen between movies.
" You've seen the show, it was quite a treat.
Now you'd like something to eat.
Right this way to the concession stand,
Pit cooked barbecue, best in the land"
