Rear sprocket
Should there be play in the rear sprocket?

Axial, no.
Rotational, yes. There is a rubber cush drive between the pulley and wheel.

When I put one hand on top and one hand on bottom and move back and forth I am getting about 2mm of play?

Depends..... Are you trying to move it axial or rotational?

I'm thinking this is my belt alignment issue

Should be no axial play, sounds like your pulley hub bearing is toast. Not difficult nor expensive to replace.

No movement in the rim just the sprocket. Wouldn't there be movement in the rim too if the hub bearing was bad? And do you think this is my belt alignment issue or could be?

The pulley hub does not support the wheel, one bearing in the hub and 2 bearings in the wheel. There are 6 studs with nuts holding the pulley to the hub, make sure they are tight.
Has the wheel recently been removed? Maybe the hub spacer is missing? The bearing is 6206 ball bearing with 2 oil seals, get a good brand name such as SKF, FAG, INA, etc.

And yes, failed hub bearing would play havoc with belt alignment.

Well then, there should be a spacer between the pulley hub and the wheel, it will fall out if the sprocket is tipped to the side. It would be impossible to properly tighten the axle nut without the spacer, the swingarm would distort.
And the pulley would wobble............. Only way to know is to take it apart and inspect, either way it will need the spacer or a new bearing.
