KawaNOW USA Regions

Some of the feedback coming out of the rally's suggests that we revamp the regions we have set for the USA.

Please vote in this poll as to how you would like to see the regions setup for the USA.

In case of a tie, the staff will decide.

Thanks,
Trip

Voting will close on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 6PM, CDT.

I like the idea of having a northeast region. It means there is more I can be involved in without having to put on the mileage and there will be the national rally every other year to all get together, mileage be damned.

I am split on this. Right now, membership would be on average about 100 per region if split into the 6 regions. Kinda small for that. However I do understand the distance issue.

I think that over time, more smaller regional rallies that are organized by individuals will become more common. This will allow for people meeting closer to home. However, the larger regional rallies are still nice to get a larger group together.

I guess right now, I would leave it as it is and see how it develops over the next year or two.

I think 6 regions would be more than enough. But believe we should have riding groups for each state, that way residents of those have a way to communicate and get together and plan rides.

The Southern Nomads are looking at having a mini rally now of course every body that wants to come would be more than welcome. I think if you took the map the way you have it divided now an drew a line through the middle from east to west it would be easier for every one. Then more people could make 2 or 3 rallies.

My 2 cents,, 6 regions would be good, People will be closer and will be able to set up small rallies for each region,, you become a Tighter group if you ride together alot. ALSO have NATIONAL Rallies. like Now... the districts can meet up and ride to the National rallies together.. KNOWING and Hanging with the same people alot should get MORE riders to the Regionals rides and even MORE to the NATIONAL... and meeting more then once a year is better ,,,,,,Rich

You know my thoughts on this Trip. Hell, I instigated it

It seems like there will be more rallys for the lucky ones to be able to attend. Also there will probably be more rallys per year, like 2 per section as a given.

It's not quite that simple out here in the wide open spaces. Just going off of rally attendees, Nico, BD and Tom are nearly 400 miles from MarkG and I. CaddmannQ, Redeye and Valdez are 400 miles from them and 700 miles from me. Dan Lund and Audiogooroo are 800 miles + from me. Wolfman is 750 miles from the Cali boys and 550 from Audiogooroo. We are much more spread out here than you guys East of the Mississippi.

Dividing it into six regions would be ok with me, That way it isn't as big a deal to attend the rally's you want to go to as far as taking time off work. That seems to be the biggest obstacle for me when planning time away from home.

I hope so. I'm trying to wear one of my KawaNOW shirts as passive advertising whenever I ride.

I was thinking the same thing, by next year our membership will be considerably higher than it was this year. Theres a good probability that we could have 50-60 bikes show up at some of the rally's

torn on the deal. I'm thinking 6 but I like a lot of the people I have met from what would be the other regions. As long as "cross pollination" of regions is ok, then I will go with 6.

I think the cross-pollination would be prolific. Even with six or more regions/rallies there will be some people between two or three or even four. There would also be more opportunities for the high-milers to seek out the most distant ones. Would be good to spread out the dates for the same reason, and of course everyone would be welcome at all, well, most every one...

My main suggestion would be that the southern ones be held in Spring or Fall, but that is probably obvious.

My thinking is pretty much along the same line as Ells. I personally like the idea of dividing into 6 different regions thinking it would make it easier for most to attend one or more of the rallys. It would allow us the ability to have more rallys at different times of the year to make the most of our own "fair weather" conditions. Members could pick and choose rallys close by in their region as well as those cross country. Of course, you could still have local rides any time you want... but I also think it would make it easier for "New" members to find their respective groups and rides.

Of course...we could still try and plan a "National Annual" rally also for everybody to try and get together. Just my thoughts.......
