A lot of people on here after market STEBEL horn or something like that. It isn't difficult to wire but you do have to put in a relay so it may not fit your needs. I'm sure there are loud auto horns out there that may fit your needs.

Virg,
Advance Auto and AutoZone both sell a OEM replacement horn called the Blazzer. They connect just like our horns and can use the same mount (with the little rubber thingie from our horn), they run on a 10 amp circuit (actually draw less than 5 AMPS) so no rewiring just plug and play, they cost $12 and they have a 135 DB model which is a improvement over our stock horns. Have one on my bike for over 2 years now.

A stock car horn will work, Thats what I use to test with when I suspect a bad horn.

Picked up a 2-wire trumpet horn at NAPA for $16 this week. Supposed to be rated at around 120db. unbolted horn bracket from frame - unhooked wires from stock horn - plugged wires onto new horn - bolted horn to bracket that came with it - bolted new bracket onto frame.....all of 5 minutes and horn works great. Only problem is its black but that is 1 thing less to polish.

Good deal Fudd. I'm sure you and the cars around you will hear you much better.

Just about any horn will be a step up from the Nomad OEM horn. Mine was just about a baby gerbil fart. :) The Stebel wired with a relay makes people drop their iPhones mid-text. Wired direct to the stock horn wires it just didin't get enough juice.

There is a little screw on the back of the horn. My horn when out and the deal told me to twink the screw and see if it fixed the problem. Sure enough it did. Might consider giving that a try.

I have had Fiamm horns bought at NAPA on my Nomad since '01 with no problems. They tuck in by the radiator using the stock leads. They are 135 decibles each ( high and low pitch ) and will get attention. There is a lot of info on this subject on Gadget's website on the Vulcan Forum
