Speedo Problem
Have been having off and on problems with Speedo since tank was lifted to make TFI connections on injectors. No other issues and connections have been rechecked twice since install. Added Chuckster dual intake last week and had removed tank again to flush coolant and change, so rechecked ALL connections again. Made sure that instrument cluster was clear and locked in place and two remaining plugs for tank were the same. No sharp bends or abrasions could be found. Put is all back together, fired it up and went to test. Speedo came up for about three minutes and then dropped to 0. Came back up once again and then off. Has not moved since. All warning and monitor lighting work perfect, just the speedo. I have a wide knowledge of working with electrical properties and connections so I pay close attention to detail . Cannot seem to spot this one.
Does anyone have the schematic for the instrument plug-in for the cluster, or any of the + or - values for the instruments or plug-in that will serve as a test point. It appears to be a connectivity problem. Also this connectivity problem is in conjunction with the turning signal auto cutoff function. When the speedo is working so does the auto cutoff. I am convinced it is in the same loop. Just as a foot note, head light connections have not been touched. Not certain if the speedo is included with the cluster plug, or is part of the other separate two and four conductor plugs. Any diagrams or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Speedo Problem
I know that the manual tells you not to turn the speedo upside down for any length of time while doing service. I always unplug mine and set it on the bench. Im not sure why it recomends this but it says damage can occur.

Speedo Problem
Steve
Have you ever noticed whether you get a complete deflection from the speedo needle form 0 across to the other side when you first turn on the switch and the other indicators come on. Several have told me that their's does and then returns back to zero, for an instrument test. I know mine does not even when working. I am looking for a test impulse when the switch comes on before starting. If I could at least find the pin config at the plug in I could at least test the sending unit from the left side. Danny |

Speedo Problem
My needle doesn't move when I turn the key. The 1600's are different and some do that.
Are there any tests in the manual for checking the speedo? It may also be a dirty or corroded speed sensor possibly.

Speedo Problem
Currently do not have a manual, mine is still packed up in storage (or at least I think it is still there). Have been out of country. Am finally back for good I hope. The storage unit where my items were stored got clobbered by severe weather and a lot of things were damaged beyond using, and during the cleanup, a lot was hauled away. They salvaged as much as possible, but a little of what remained is still in another storage unit. I am hoping this post will prompt someone to help with an email or attachment with the config for the plug and or sensor.

There is a copy of the 2005 manual in the maintenance section. This should be the link

Just so you know, my Nomad is an '08 and when I turn the key my needly moves from 0 over to the 140 MPH side and then drops back to 0. Hope that helps.
