Had a Speedo Problem

For some time now (about a year) my speedo had been acting erratic. You could be cruising down the road going about 50 and give it the gas, look down at the speedo and it would still be on 50. Sometimes it would jump up to whatever speed you were going, sometimes not. The same thing when slowing down. It got progressively worse, sometimes it wouldn't work at all. Finally, after I installed my new CT on the rear, it wouldn't work at all, not even when you turned on the switch. I had previously bought a speed sensor off Ebay (in preparation for when the day came that it didn't work anymore), and after reading of another similar speedo problem on here, I replaced the sensor. Didn't change a thing, so I got the service manual out and found how to check the speedo itself. Turned out the speedo "meter" itself was bad. I found on on Ebay, bid on it, and won. Got it today, switched them out, and all is good now.

yeah well that is the other end of the problem. Good for you you nailed it.. best thing is you didn't get me to help confuse the issue huh?

Mac, I got a lot of respect for you, and your abilities to troubleshoot a problem. I'm pretty good at troubleshooting myself, the only difference is, I have to have my hands on the vehicle to do it. I can't just read the symptoms, and make a diagnosis.

LOL to do what I do a lot of strange women need to enter your life, and do the chicken dance when they talk shop. While i am the first to admitt I know nuthin about women, they all do this same dance each with their own steps and special noises that some how relate to their cars..

One scared me bad when she stooped in a too tight skirt and grabbed a high heel and began pounding it on my desk.

After a while it makes what you guys say easy to understand safely i might add in text...
