I am not familar with the 99's, but I am betting under the seat there is one 30 amp fuse like the rest of nomads.. A Main Fuse which may have died of plain old age..

recheck the ground on the battery, they are bad about vibrating loose if not real tight

I would also suspect a battery connection, or try wiggling the key in the ignition sometimes the contacts get sticky in there. Also check the kill switch.

I adhere to the saying "follow the voltage."
If you have voltage at the battery and don't have it at the fuse box, you dont have much to check. The ground, switch, and the main fuse as already mentioned, are all good bets. |

Thanks I checked and it came down to a 30 amp fuse under the right side cover, not sure why but when I turn my key to accessorie it blows,as long as I just start the bike and ride it's fine ,as soon as I turn it to acc it blows the fuse ,I will start disconnecting items (led, led blinkers, fog lights ...etc) and then see if the fuse still blows. Thanks for all the help ,not sure if I said this already I LOVE THIS SITE AND I LOVE THIS BIKE.
Thanks again and I will keep updated. |

Welcome to the site. Glad to know that you found the 30 amp fuse. Why are you switching to accessory if you don't mind my asking. One would be tempted to simply say, don't do that. Only problem with that idea is that the short could get worse and really tear something up. Good luck finding the short circuit.

Thanks again for all the info ,I don't use the acc it was turned to it by mistake (a good mistake ,at least found what causes blown fuse)I have been all over town ,no problems what so ever,as long as I don't turn it to acc.Is it possible to check the regulator still on the bike or is it a take off thing. Thanks again for all your guys help .

If the fuse blows only when you turn the switch to the ACC position I would say you have a short somewhere in the circuits involved with that position. Most likely it's the switch itself. If I had a wiring diagram for the 1500's I could probably narrow it down a little more but I don't.
I really suspect the switch.
