Where do Nomads come from?
Does anyone know which U.S. port they ship the Nomads through?
I was thinking that should be the cheapest place to buy a new one? Or do they average freight among all dealers. We need a Kawasaki insider!

Where do Nomads come from?
My guess would be the Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach. That's where most motor vehicles land from Japan. If not there, Port Hueneme up the coast by Oxnard. Dollars to doughnuts it's LA, though.
My son works for a huge Korean overseas container shipping outfit.

Where do Nomads come from?
Yep that is what I would bet. Ask your local dealer. I would say they get some type of shipping manifest right? It has to tell them where it came from because they put it together out of the box.

Where do Nomads come from?
I hate to break this to the people that think their bike was built in NE. Kaw. has a plant in Lincoln, but made dirt bikes there at one time. I think that's change now too. All road bikes are made in Japan and sent to the USA. It tells you that on one of the stickers you removed. It also tells you that it is Distr. By Kawasaki Motors Corp. Santa Ana, CA 92799-5252

Where do Nomads come from?
In the 80's when I lived in Lincoln, they made ATV's and watercrafts at this plant. At that time they didn't make motorcycles. I remember reading somewhere that the Nomad's are made in Japan as are all of the large cruisers.

They are made in Japan. I forget the name of the place.

Where do Nomads come from?
Guys, I hate to burst your bubbles. But, our faithful Nomads (and V2Ks) are not built in the US.
http://careerlink.com/0/0/8/6/profile/ In the '70s production of the VLMs (Very Large Motorcycles) was brought to these shores becasue the law in Japan (as I understood it) was that max displacement was limited to 750cc. That's why the Z1 was built here as were the original Goldwings. I understand that motorcycle production ceased in Lincoln about two or three years ago. But, they make some real fine rail cars as wells as all terrain vehicles, jet skis, wheels for ATVs and several engines. The plant is located just off the north end of the runway at Lincoln, NE.

Go here and enter your VIN (or serial number). It says mine was made in Japan.
http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vin/kawasaki.asp There was another site posted on the forum somewhere that would give the actual plant your Nomad was built in but I can't find that one.
