Good days all, Just curious what you guyz uses if any rain /dust cover on the set up that you filter is completely exposed to the elements,, I am mainly concerned on what to use If I get caught in bad rain...

In my experience the only time you really have to worry about water getting into the intake is when the bike is sitting not running out in the rain. Any rain that gets into the intake while the engine is running will pass thru the engine and not harm anything. I have over 27,000 miles on my skoot with my own design BAK,I have been in some horrible downpours, one coming right at me from the right side with wind I thought was gonna blow me off the road out in the middle on no where!
A FYI, most modern sportbikes are ram air inducted with the intake openings facing forward. When riding any of my ram air sportbikes in the rain all I can detect is a little bit of surging as the engine is ingesting the rain, causes no harm. In the case of a skoot with a BAK sitting out in the rain or severe dust storm, some kind of cover would help keep that stuff out of the filter. As for riding in the rain, there really are no concerns with rain getting into the intake. Now on the other hand riding into a puddle of water and causing enuff of a wake that water would be forced into the intake could surely cause hydraulic lock and ruin the engine. RACNRAY

I personaly run a prefilter on mine. Not so much for the rain but unfortunately part of living in the sticks is the dust from the gravel road. I run mine all the time just to help keep dust at bay.

actually, a little moisture going thru the engine while it is running is a good thing. It will do a little "steam cleaning" to the inside of the combustion chamber.
