Was going to take the bike out for a bit, but since I am on call for work this weekend, it wouldn't have been very far. Instead, I replaced the passenger side window motor in my Bronco and am now preparing for an afternoon of NFL football.

Nice ride today. For those on Long Island they know it as Oak Beach for those that don't it is also near Gilgo Beach. The site of the half dozen bodies that were found last year. Nice ride along the ocean. Almost no cars. I guess that is why a sicko can dump bodies without being seen.

Did a lot of riding today starting around 8am this morning and making it back home around 4pm. The total miles were around 135.

Since we live on Hwy 620 in Lake Travis,Texas we took Hwy 71 west to Hamilton Pool road and then turned off to Ranch Road 12 towards Dripping Springs,Texas and on to Wimberley, Texas. We made it into Wimberley around 12 noon. * Wimberley is in a low area where fresh water springs are flowing just enough to keep everything green and as you can see from the picture the size of the Tree Trunk.

This was a unplanned ride and we just ended up here. I am not sure if a lot of you know about our worst drought ever in Texas. The numerous fires we had last month destroying in just one community alone 1500 Homes. We had no knowledge of the events going on in Wimberley to give some funding to the neighboring city of Bastrop,Texas where the majority of fires took place. The generosity of people giving their time to help neighbors out I am sure the people of Bastrop are Thankful.

So we did enjoy ourselves with Food, Shopping and Lots of Bands Playing at different locations on the Square in Wimberley.

If you ever make it to Texas and are down this way stop on in. =r=

Worked from midnight Thursday night to 330 Friday afternoon then went on a 50 mile ride. You gotta have priorities. :)

Rode up to Bar Harbor / Arcadia National Park for the long weekend. Weather was fantastic for mid-October in New England. Temps in the upper 70's. Nice and sunny. Foliage along the coast just getting started. Maybe somewhere around 700 miles total.

Rode to my brother's house in Maryland, 60 miles. I left my bike there and he drove me home. It is supposed to rain the next few days and we are going to be putting lights and a new Cee Bailys windshield on it Friday. He has a garage and I do not.
