It's all Greg's fault!

I would have to check it out of course. At one time I liked the 1300 GT until I sat on it. Not a fit for me.
I am not in the market right now but you never know in a few years I might get this bike, until then I can daydream about it.

Cliff,

The new R1200RT is a better bike than the 1600 IMHO. Both are great bikes.

If you ever get around to getting serious BMW is great about test rides.

As with all newer BMW'S reliability and cost of ownership would be my main concerns.

Jim (Ponch) is a great resource on Beemers.... although as Brad's personal secretary Jim still hasn't been able to find the speed times of the 1600 GTL that confirm Brad's outlandish claims

Can't wait until we get to Tahoe!

Greg, that is one sweet looking bike in your signature line: Is it fast?

the ST1300 can beat the GTL, but not the GT. But if we are looking for fast sport tourers, try the new FJR: 10.98 1/4 mile time.

http://www.cycleworld.com/2012/11/30...ng-impression/

It wins on price and speed.

Yes on all 3 counts Dan.

1. Yes the ST1300 is faster than the GTL. No B.S. Confirmed by independent and reputable third-party data (MCN). See previous link provided.
2. Yes the bike in my signature line is fast.
3. The FJR is faster and is a very sweet bike with many of the updates Honda should have added to the ST1300 by now . Love the 2014 Red FJR. I am going to a Yamaha demo days this weekend to ride the FJR and Super Tenere. I better leave my checkbook at home.

Ok... That post should get a fish on from the peanut gallery!. I love playing with them, they are so predictable.

I was telling Brad that in a few years I might get another bike, but I was thinking more towards an ST. Until I saw the post on the GTL I was not thinking BMW.
As of now I am trending BMW.
