DR Roos...I forgot to ask...did you have any problems getting your front brake pressure to pump up and brakes to start working after installation?.

No not a problem at all, everything with the brakes are fine.

Thank you for the lead on the axle caps, I will look into that for sure.

I had a heck of time getting my brakes to pump up but I had drained the lines so I could remove and rebuild the calipers. I suspected it was just air in the lines but wanted to eliminate the possibility it had something to do with the wheel mod. Neither you or dshelly had any problems so that confirms air bubbles was the reason for it.

The 120 tire looks small to me. In fact it's .83 " smaller in dia. The 130 is only .28 shorter.

I knew it was smaller when I ordered it, That is the look I wanted.

As stated before, I love the look and it handles great and I think even better than it did with the fat 150 series tire. Zero negatives on the small tire.

distance between 1500 and 1600 forks

What is the distance between the 1600 forks? Could this wheel be adapted to the 1500?

A 1600 should be about 8.9" to the outside of the spacers.

I'm sure it would fit a 1500 as long as you do the math and figure the spacing.

If the 1500 is useing the same size rotor (300mm) and axle (25mm) as the 1600 then it should fit. As dshelly said, you'ed just have to figure out the correct axle spacer sizing. Not a hard thing to do. Take note that we had to shave about 1/8th inch of our brake caliper mounts to line the calipers up with the Street Glide wheel rotors. Again, not really difficult.

I should point out the amount you need to shave off your Vulcan 1500 brake caliper mounts might be different than that of a 1600. Depends on the difference in the front end construction... if any.
It's just a matter of taking careful measurements and doing the math.

Hey guys,

First time posting in the forum but I have been riding my nomad for 4 years and have done many mods to it because of this place. You all do some great work!

My question is regarding this wheel mod. I just picked up my road glide wheel today and Im about to take my forks and spacers to the machine shop. Im just double checking the spacer lengths. When you say RH side i assume you mean sitting on the bike, not looking at it from the front right? I know some people say it differently.

Other than that Im excited about the mod. I know where theres a DNA 21" Fat Daddy wheel with my name on it in a few months!

Randy
