50 ain't cold

True, but when you head north up into the higher elevations in Dec and Jan it gets into the low 30s, or even the 20s riding.

So I do get some experience riding in rather cool weather each year.

I also lived many years in Wisconsin, and a few in Montana, and rode in the milder cold too.

I prefer the cold to 110, altho I have ridden in both down here. 110 gets down right miserable if you are traveling for any distance.

If the roads are clear, I will ride if it's over 20. The problem with temps over your body temperature is that you basically get baked, convection oven style. Instead of the wind cooling you, it cooks you. I had a taste the first year I got my Nomad, 2007. It was 103 one day. Man, that sucked.

Wife and I got Colorado Cool Vests a couple of years ago. They help in the summer down here, it helps to keep the heat managable.

But its no substitute for nice riding like in the 70s.

What gets really nasty is if you get caught in stop and go traffic when its hot out. That gets just plain ugly.

The other issue is he said the color would give it away....Blue would not have given it away since other bikes he was considering came in Blue as well. Red would have given it away since he led us to believe he was considering Ultra, Voyager, Vaquero. I am sticking w/Red Vaquero...yes CJ that was what you led us to.

If I am wrong congrats anyhow but you will be known as a MIS-leader in my book :-/ ;)
Well I stand corrected (nice way of saying I was wrong). I thought I knew the HD colors. You did not mis-lead us.

I like the fact you have a unique color and aren't afraid to be different.

Now that you are a KawaNow underling please go fetch me a cold one ::)

Enjoy the new bike.

Alright, Toophun and I are going for a ride tomorrow. I'll have him snap a picture or two of me on my bike and post them when I get back.

Could be he did not want to hear a bunch of B.S. from the few rabid anti-Harley members that are on here.

Now my question is, what's the other site? I'm always looking for other sites to visit.

Go up a few posts. I alerted y'all to it. As far as anti-HD, whatever. They exist on both sites. I think Scott has a kick ass bike. The color reminds of of the grape ape purple on Dodges in the 60's/70's. All I can say is great bike, good luck and keep the shiny side up.
