Round 2 is about to begin. My family is forecasted to get 7-10 inches of snow and 1/2" of ice. Other parts of ga will get 1" - 1.50" OF ICE! Last time 2" of snow caused mass histeria. Can't wait to see what happens this time. Our super leader (mayor) said we were ready this time...:banghead:

If you get 7-10 inches and then the sleet on top it's more manageable. At least you have some traction with the snow. When it's just pure ice you're in trouble even if you're from up in my area.
Good luck with this round. I know you guys aren't use to it. Stay safe.

We had a short ground blizzard yesterday. It even rolled it's own snowballs.

The NWS is saying they could get 1.5 inches ice in Eatonton GA through tomorrow. I cant even imagine. We have about .25 inch now and have trees in houses. Power still on though.

An ice storm hit Maine last year or the year before and kept them in the dark for an extended period of time. That's a state that's use to heavy snow and some ice. They weren't spared and there was nothing they could do other than have electrical crews from neighboring states come in to help restore the power lines.

We are almost finished with sleet and snow. By 10 am, the sun should come through. We received around 1.5" of ice then 2.5 of snow. Its actually snowing now, but lightly. We (Atlanta) handled this storm so much better than 2 weeks ago. Most have kept off the streets, although I just heard on the news about a drunk driver that crashed trying to drive in 5+ inches of ice and snow. Idiot. :what:

Hope you didn't loose power.
At least your kids will get to see what snow is. Don't forget to teach them how to make a snow ball.

ITS ALL MY FAULT, I didn't buy snow tires this year and my all season tires are worn to half tread.
Before retirement I worked night shift, I'd leave for work at 10:00pm. I never had 4 wheel drive and most times I had small 2 wheel drive trucks, nissans. But I did use snow tires. Didn't have much traffic at that time of night and the only time I had trouble was when some idiot would slow down to go up a hill instead of getting a running shot. Then I would drive on the shoulder of the road for traction. Now with all the a-hole traffic my next vehicle is going to be 4 wheel drive. BTW Its snowing like crazy right now. It looks so nice until I have to shovel and snowblow

Here comes round two! Another 4 to 6 inches was forecast to the already 6 on the ground!
Good grief! The snow we got last night was powdery. This time it's wet and the size of half dollars and sticking to the trees and power lines. One snow storm every ten years or so is enough for me. This four or five inches twice a year since global warming is aggravating. I wonder if we ice age the planet will we have mild winters again? I wonder what per cent of my income it takes before the omnipotent world political leaders will implement a comfortable year round 75* temperature? I wonder how long it will take the government to realize it doesn't need climate change hubs to monitor and record weather conditions. Right now I can think of two agencies that do that already; National Weather Service, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, not to mention all of you local radio and TV stations.

Twice a year? Try 2 to 3 time a week.

That's about how much snow we got. The bottle wouldn't go all the way to the ground. It snowed another four inches later this afternoon. 11"
