Thanks, I'll do a search on it.

I found it. It is the J1, and it is just what I had in mind. Just enough to keep your lips off the pavement :)

I wear a 1/2 for 3 seasons and a 3/4 in the winter. I've owned 2 full face but just can't seem to find one that is comfortable. The full face rubs on my collar and makes it difficult to turn my head. You see....I have no neck...sad but true.

I noticed today that about 80% (not an actual count) of the Colorado riders were not wearing any helmet and also many with no gloves, must have been the atypical spring-like day. Usually runs closer to 50% around here for helmets and almost 100% for gloves.

Great helmet, if you don't mind looking like Johnny Unitas. I agree, for the price, I'd hope you'd at least get a kiss.

"By the way, bad news for potential U.S. owners: the Schuberth J1 is not DOT approved and apparently Schuberth has no plans to sell it in the U.S.A. It does conform to the ECE 22-05 standard though, so it's legal for use by European riders."

Maybe pick one up on a trip to Europe, or have one of our European members mail it over. But I won't get one till the price comes down.

It does have the Johnny Unitas look, but you guys should be picturing it from the inside, looking out.

The thing I hate about a full face (only had one for about 3 years) is the claustrophobia feeling of having your face completely surrounded. Picture looking out a typical full face helmet, and picture being inside this one, looking out.

It would get rid of the claustrophobic feeling for me, and as I said keep your chin off the pavement, and keep you lips on your face. If it weren't so bloody expensive, the Johnny Unitas look would be just what I'd want.
