So what's the absolute deadline for me to officially tell you guys I'm going to be there?

Like, are there formalities and all that? Or can I just show up and dive into any available motel?

I tried to comb through these threads for some real details, but the (pages and pages of) jocular banter is a very effective camouflage for actual information should it truly even exist.

There's no real "formal procedure" other than signing the waiver form and filling out the "ICE" form and having it in your saddlebag. You are free to stay wherever you can get a room. We'd like to have advance <s>warning</s> er, notice of everybody who does plan to attend, just so we know somethings up if an expected member doesn't arrive at the destination. Also, we will be publishing (either by email or snail mail) a "rally packet" with an itinerary and useful information that we'd want you to have ahead of time.

I hope you do decide to attend. I'd really like to meet you.
