Why do some people have such a problem with what kind of helmet other people are using. It dosn't have any effect on them. I say to each there own, its a free country.

I tried a FF helmet but I have "No Neck" and a "fat face". A full face and some 3/4's are very uncomfortable and I don't have much neck rotation...so I can understand the poor vision thing.

I see someone wearing a helmet like you have on in your pic and I think, geez, dosen't that person want the most protection they can get. It not only affects them it also affects the ones that love them. Why would a person take a chance on landing on their head and getting killed when a full helmet would give them a better chance of survival? It is just common sense to me, but as you say, free country. No offense intended, just trying to answer your question ;)

"we wear helmets. Modern, full-face helmets, if we have enough brains to protect, that is." (from the article) I believe in freedom of choice. A choice of helmet is based on several things. Looks, protection, just legal, peer pressure, weather, etc. It is your choice and no one elses. The consequences of your decision, either good or bad, WILL affect those close to you if your choice is put to the ultimate test. I hope that will never happen. Thats all I have to say about that.

I have no intention of crashing. Doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Didn't hit my head, landed on my butt. Need a helmet for buttheads.

Absolutely. If someone wants to wear a trash can on their head, what business is it of mine? Likewise, if I choose to ride with no helmet (legal where I live), then it's nobody else's business.

I wear a NexL half helmet($200) and hard to find. Winter i wear a Shoei 3/4 with slide up visor($225). Too damn HOT in central TEXAS to wear a full helmet or you would heat stroke pretty darm fast with air flowing or not. IMO. :-)

I have a symax modular full face. Nice helmet, but it is noisier than my half helmet and I have some buffeting with it. It is my winter helmet, so I only wear it to keep my face and ears warm. I have a leather covered half helmet from Jafrum that I wear most of the time. I like the half helmet best.
