Full face Zamp Moduler...caught the tail end of summer with it...I am pretty sure I will like the ability to flip that sucker open when its hitting 95 degrees here...will probably move to a half when it does get that hot...

Helmet Poll
As of this post, only 3 of 63 respondents indicate no helmet. Does anyone know what the statistics are nationally?

In Iowa & Illinois helmets are optional. ( I don't know about Chicago ) I keep a half helmet in the Nomad side bag and wear a flip-up Zox on the 800 if I am going on the hwy because I don't have a windshield on it. When I was at Eureka Springs, Waterman said that as of July 1 the helmet law was to be debunked in Missouri. I belong to Abate of Iowa & Abate of Illinois and nobody seems to know about that. Does anyone know what is the helmet law is now-a-days in Missouri??

I do not like to wear helmets at all... but I do... a half helmet only though. (my head itches too much -- can't stand it)
I have five helmets; one of which is full face. Can't stand to wear it; but do carry it along on long trips for rain. The others are a variety of types -- of which none I like... thus I wear the minimum helmet. (The wife rules the roost here on this subject -- she demands a helmet.)

![]() ![]() I have only ever worn a half helmet with the removable ear flaps and I guess I have taken the comfort of that style of helmet WAYYY too much for granted. I remove the lower piece in summer and zip it back on for winter, but rain or no, there is no way on this friggin earth I could EVER wear anything other than what I currently use. I was considering a 3/4 for longer rides and greater safety, but I'm big on peripheral vision. Those fuller helmets fail that test miserably. They weigh a ton and squeezed my head like the zit that it is....and I couldn't get them off fast enough...! To each his own for sure...

I wear the HJC 3/4 no sheild . I like the wind in my face but not my ears. I've tried 1/2 helmets but get ear ache after awhile. I really dont think i could ride very far without one . just safety paranoia i guess .

This is TRUE! He was leading on ol' blue (1500 Classic, no shield, skid lid) once with Ann and I and all I saw was his head jerk back and him start spitting everywhere. I almost had to pull over I was laughing so hard, because I KNEW what happened! I still get a chuckle out of it, until here recently we were on 175 headed home one evening and hit the biggest swarm of nats/mosquitos I've ever seen. One high-protein dinner to go. Nasty.. LOL ![]()

I don't wear a helmet most of the time, down to about 50 degrees anyway. From 50 down to 25 or so it is a half helmet with a wind proof micro fleece face mask. My wife and I will wear our half helmets on longer trips on more unfamiliar roads.

For me it is full-face all the time. I "kissed" a car that turned left in front of me. Glad I had it on when my face plowed into the rear side panel. Made a "boink" sound like an aluminum bat as the face shield flexed and I bounced back. No dental work needed or injury. Love my full-face helmet.

3/4 for me about 99% of the time.
I drop one of my kids off at school in the morning....and the kid wears mine for that short trip and then I put the helmet on and ride the 55 miles to work. When on a local ride....and the kids go with me (wife doesn't ride)....they always wear a full face helment and I'll wear my 3/4 face. When on a trip or a journey and the weather conditions are not always known (like to Sturgis)..I have a full face helment of my own that I'll wear in case of rain or cooler night riding.
