My CLUTCH slips, appreciate comments

I can see why Bill felt that way.

Not all of us are rolling in money and can afford the "good stuff?!" Just 'cause it's expensive doesn't necessarily mean it's the best.

As for me, I buy the cheapest I can find because that's all I can afford.

Regarding the comment about Walmart, if you don't like Walmart you certainly don't have to shop there. However, you will have a hard time convincing me that there is any difference between a brand name oil (or whatever) sold by Walmart and the same item sold anywhere else.

My CLUTCH slips, appreciate comments

As I wrote in an earlier thread concerning clutch slippage, I felt my clutch slipping after installing a temporary 1/2 Caddman mod. The 1/2 part being leaving the left side on and installing the new air cleaner on the right side. It made the engine come alive and had better response and that's when I could feel the clutch slipping. I ordered the Barnett spring from Ape Racing and I'm still waiting on it's arrival. I saved about $13 bucks but it is not a stocked part for them. Probably could have found it elsewhere in stock but saving $13 seemed important at the time. Anyway, I installed a Barons Big Air kit and am eagerly awaiting the Barnett spring to complete the whole project. If I ever get my part I will report back on how it works and on the condition of my plates.

I usually ride two up, commute daily to work 5x a week, take trips pulling the trailer, etc....33K miles. I use Mobil1 V-Twin full synthetic.

Man, you first problem was purchasing that cheap crap oil from that sweat shop supporting company like Walmart. Okay, my rant is over but for the life of me I don't understand why bike owners try and skimp on the cheapest part of the maintenance for their rides. You ride the best so buy it the best.

No personal attack meant, so if any was felt then I apologize. My point was that I see a lot of members buying crap at Walmart to save a few bucks. Did you know that last week China authorities were compelled to raid factories under contract with Walmart for Human Rights violations. ( now you know it had to be pretty bad for China to have to react to Human Rights complaints ) It seems the factory owners were withholding pay as well as food to the workers because quotas to Walmart orders were not being met.
So, point being, so what if you get cheap brand name oil and save a few bucks, look what your supporting!!! Bet you would think different if it was your son or daughter working in one of those factories.
Okay, I'm done stepping off the soap box now..........

I agree with your point about China whole-heartedly.

Unfortunately, it's getting nearly impossible to buy goods that weren't made in China. It doesn't matter which store or chain you go to.

We, the American people, have been sold out to China by our political leaders.

+1 Bob. I purchase my Mobil 1 V-Twin motorcycle oil at Wal Mart and save $1.50 a quart or more over Auto Zone and even more over Advanced Auto Parts. I also by the Super Tech oil filter there for my oil changes for a little over $2.25 per filter. I've purchased riding gloves at the local HD dealership and found that they were made in China. Sports jerseys at premium prices at the retailers in the mall are all made in India, Bangladesh, etc. It's difficult to find anything with any popularity or demand made in the USA anymore. Over here, peeled crawfish tails shipped from China sell for $2.99 per pound. If you look for Louisiana peeled crawfish tails you will pay more than $12.00 per pound. They taste better, but for the average Joe or someone on a fixed income, I don't blame them at all for buying the Chinese produce. If you look for "Made in USA" on the tags before you buy it, chances are you will be doing alot of traveling and more than likely spending triple or more for your goods. It's sad but that's just the way it is.
