You wrecked your bike? I didn't read about that here, but there must be a thread???

I am liking my new Dunlop Ft tire as a D 251 F is the stock size, and radial with the Sp 5000 rear. I just hope that ft lasts a while.

And yeah these car ties eat sick twisted sister roads for breakfast.

Very stable in hard corning atleast for me and more stable than mc rears IMO. The mts in NH are mosty twisted roads following rivers, and crossing east/west thru passes.

People have been angery with me for using some of these paved tight twisted road when I lead.

There are a few roads comparable to the Dragon, and near the Dragon there are even tighter roads, a few I discovered on my own. Those seem to be secret roads locals don't tell us tourists about.

Yeah mac, I wrecked my beloved Nomad. I was on he way back from Custer coming through Portsmouth, Ohio and hit a deer. All I suffered was a dislocated and twisted left ankle, road rash on my right arm. And a case of shot nerves.

I was in good hands, Kawgirl, and Todd were with me. They even let me ride tail gunner where I'd be safe.

I'm all but healed up, the road rash is a pink mark and I limp a little. The Insurance co. was fair with the settlement, so I'm getting another Nomad. My boss won't let me work, so I'm getting 30 day medical leave wiff pay.

It's hard to find any commercial enterprise to mount a car tire on a bike rim. They are afraid of liability. I had a friend refer me to a small custom tire/wheel shop who agreed to do mine.

Kaw-Head (aka itsemt), Oh I did read about that but not from you.. I got the wrong name in my head which is easy since I don't really know who looks like what, other than these smaller pics.

I hope the jitters aren't too bad. I had a bad case of them back in 79 after a crash that nearly killed me. For it today I can stop dead and still have both feet on the boards for upto 5 seconds time.

I got a refresher on the jitters in 05 when I crashed in SD. My timing for starting and stopping were off. I would run over my feet getting going and place a foot down too soon stopping.

Jitters just suck. I wasn't 1/2 way healed in 05 when the time to go came, and we left. When I hit Cal I still wasn't ready to ride that sort of traffic. Out there they will eat you if you are lost and or don't know the their rules of the road, and I didn't.

I was riding but I wasn't 'right' about it for a good while later. No one talks about this much, but for me I was able with time and success to work it all out again, and be comfortable.

Lots of guys can't stand to talk about a crash, which isn't really good for them. It is good you can and willingly.

Doc, NH seems to be almost not any part of the USA. There is no one around here that will swap a ct to a bike wheel I can find. The dealers have prissey little guys running all over with papers and calling it work.

So come vist any time, but don't dare to ask a shop for a tire swap if a ct is part of it. Sets me off so that I won't get a mc tire mounted from them on the front either. If my money isn't good for a rear tire swap, why should it be any good for a ft tire?

I don't know what happen ,I thought I answered this one

Anyway, it doesn't bother me to talk about the wreck. I realize people wan to know because they are concerned about me. It's tough repeating it, but I do. ;)

I had a bad case of the jitters for a while that night because it scared the hell out of me.

Read back through this post and you will see that isaiahsdad
has successfully installed a 195/60-16 CT on his 1500 with no clearance issues.

The tire clearance is equal on both sides so I only took one picture for clearity sake. The tire on my 99 1500 Nomad is in fact a Dunlop SP5000 Sport Car Tire, size 195/60 16 and it fits perfectly. Hope this helps clear it up.
