A 1700 without an aftermarket fuel processor and a modified intake is like riding a bike with asthma. There are no negatives apart from the increased intake noise at certain rpm's. The bike runs cooler, gets better mpg and is way more fun to ride.

I got to spend the entire day working on my bike today (vacation!) and the Chucksters Intake/V&H slip-ons/Dobeck EJK combo was installed among many other things. Thanks for the settings you provided in the other thread about the EJK Ken, they seem spot-on as I had to really work to get any popping and couldn't replicate it when I did; the bike pops as much or more stock. I'm a long time Chuckster fan as I had his dual plate on my 1500. I spent about a half hour on the highway and a few back roads after install and the sound is not annoying at all; it's much quieter than my 1500 was with the exact same setup.

No problem everybody. Happy to share info here. I have learned so much from members here that it is only right to share information and pass knowledge on to others. I will post some numbers once I get to pull a dyno run. My ass dyno says I am on the money with my setup, when I had my 1500 dyno tuned, the operator was surprised how close I was to optimum when I did my rejetting. Which I guess means I have a sensitive ass or a good sense of how a motor should respond.
I am interested to see what my AFRs look like on my Vaquero with an actual sensor.

I just placed my order last night for the BAK for my Vaquero. My bike currently has Cobra slip-ons and the Dobeck TFI tuner, I'll be interested to see if I notice any difference.

It all makes sense....you need big air to wake up the "beast" in these 1700s. The Roaring Toyz air and Ivan tune on mine made all the diff in the world. And the freedom 2-1 pipe makes even bigger power to boot. I love the intake noise... very unique sound on these motors. I dressed up the bare left side of the motor where the old intake bowl used to be with a thunder mfg. chrome "fluted" side plate. It looks very cool. And, after doing the RacnRay throttle mod, I now have snappy instant throttle response and quick acceleration. The guys who I ride with mostly have modern day 103 Harley baggers and they feel I am a real pain in the ass when it comes to performance, feeling challenged. I love it. Kawasaki rules.

I got a line on a used Thunder BAK. It'll ship on Tuesday and I will install as soon as I get it. I installed my tuner last night, but we got 8" of snow last night, so no skoot for me...

I feel your pain... If the rain wasn't bad enough for the last week. What the heck is up with all the moisture, needs to go away!

Haha you poor guys, hey the snow will be gone soon. We've had some pretty crappy spring weather out here in Oregon lately too. Damn El' Nino! Hayes I will be anxious to hear how your Thunder intake works our....Thunder makes nice parts.

I love it. I only got to put about 25 miles on it so far. I'm waiting to write my review, until I get some more miles. It will be a joint review between the V&H, TMBAK, and Cobra Power Pro. The kit was easy to install and helped it breathe.
