Would love to come but my wife needs other ladies to talk to. Have any idea if any wives are coming?

Badger,
At this point only a340driver (Al) has mentioned his wife may be coming, but he's not 100% certain at this point.

I'm sure that we'll have a few wives say that they'll be there between now and rally time. Just tell your wife that we're a good bunch of guys and know how to behave ourselves around a lady!

We have made our reservations and are looking forward to meeting all of you. We have ridden west and east of this area and want to see more of that beautiful Canadian countryside.

Noel,
Were you at the rally in Orofino? And you have a trailer painted to match the Nomad?

You're lucky Al, at least your wife is considering it. Mine for sure will not come and I have a double room booked in each location. I'm open for a share as well.

Hooter,
I take it that is a "YES".

There will be a few of us going from the Calgary area so if we can coordinate it a number of us can travel to Salmon Arm together. We'll sort out the details as we get closer to the date.

The Creston rooms are booked up. Might have to go down the road to another hotel unless someone needs to share.

Somehow this thread managed to slip past me.....maybe because I don't check in here nearly as often as I used to....

First off, from reading this thread....it looks like a fine bunch of folks showing up for a great get-together. Second, it also looks like congratulations are in order for Al as I see he is the new West Canada Region Leader.....whoo-hoo....way to go Al...!

I knew Rick was looking for a good candidate to carry the torch, just didn't know he had already passed it..... I'll have to give him a hard time as I'm hoping to have Moose Burgers for lunch this Saturday at his place at the 108 Ranch. I'm riding solo to Kamloops this Friday and hoping to make the run north with Lomax Saturday to Rick's and back to Kamloops before heading home Sunday. We'll see what the weatherman has in store for us.

Rick and I were the first to carry the Region Leader torches, he in West Canada and I in the US NW Region....back when the VBA was still in it's infancy as KawaNOW (Kawasaki Nomad Owners Worldwide). We had a blast planning gatherings and meeting new friends...many of whom have remained close even though we don't live near or see each other often.

I would join you guys in a second for that gathering, but as luck would have it, my local chapter of the VMC (Northwest Washington Victory Riders) is hosting the VMC Northwest Regional Meet in Mount Vernon, WA July 16-19. I am on the planning committee (go figure) and am to be the "ride concierge" as riders from all over the west coast seek info on the best local rides.

I have ridden most of the route you describe and it is a great ride. I have two distinct memories of Nakusp. First, our group arrived at the Selkirk Inn just before a huge thunderstorm....and we pulled the picnic table right under the hotel breezeway for cocktails and cigars. Second, after sitting down for chow in a restaurant, the power went out all over town....but they still served us fish and chips as the grease was still hot enough to fry....and they kept the drinks coming. The power came back on just in time to pay our tab....!

Would love to hook up with you all....and for you newbs planning to join them...they are a good bunch of canuckleheads....I'll vouch for them...!
