Makes sense for displacing the moisture. Isopropyl Alcohol is petroleum based I am pretty sure.

I found this http://www.fueltechexperts.com/2008/...which-is-best/ that shows octane boosters are not the same and a point may only be a decimal.

So again, don't go crazy with it. Most of us start off with 10% ethanol in every gallon of gas we buy. That's a half gallon for every 5 we put in the tank.

It's alcohol - it's distilled.

Your thinking of the drinking kind, Isopropyl alcohol is made through Hydration reaction which is a type of chemical reaction.

exactly...from Propene which is a byproduct of fossil fuel/oil refining. Pure Isopropyl..not rubbing alcohol.

Well...I'm gonna drop the bike off today at Everett Powersports and pony up $275.00 for a real Dyno-Tune. From everything I have learned about it over the past few days, my bike should greatly benefit from the process. My PC III will finally get set up for true optimization of my particular bikes set-up. I hope it is worth it...I'll post my thoughts after the weekend when I've had a chance to ride it some.

While I have yet to get the bike out of third gear since picking it up, here are the results from my DynoJet Tune. The left to right rising line is my HP, with the blue line before the Dyno tune and the green line after. It shows an improvement from 52.84 HP to 57.18. I find that to be a significant change for the better...10% overall more HP, with the biggest improvement in the higher range, which is where my concerns were.
The falling line is my overall torqure curve, again with the blue before and the green after. A tad bit more torque as well. Tomorrow I will get out and really give it a run, but I could tell the difference right from the line. The bike had more pop even in just the lower gears. I'm anxious to try it on the slab and roll on some high-end power, but I'm confident now this was worth the expenditure!

Black is still the fastest color . . . My last Dyno max was 72 hp @ 84 ft. lbs. torque. Almost makes me wonder if different machines show different numbers. Patricia made me promise not to race anymore until we get health insurance again, or we could do a little test at the Rally.
