at my age I hope I can remember to put the kickstand up when it is time to leave.it would also be nice to put it back down when it is time to get off.

One thing I like about ridding in the intermountain west is that you can trade heat for elevation. Back east and in the SW, that is hard to do. I don't care to ride when it's hot and muggy which is why in the summer I don't go east from Omaha. It's not unusual to see frost on the seat of my Nomad in the early AM when I am in intermountain country. So in the summer I beat feet for the front range and then ride the high country.

I am in TX doing my FEMA thing. I have not put one mile on my Nomad this year. This gig will stop for me on 7/1 and I am going home hop on the bike and take a spin. I don't care to wish my life away but sure wish 7/23 (KSU day - start of the trip to Red Lodge) would get here!!

ok quick question what kind of weather can we look forward to I haven't been past devils tower out that way and was wondering on how to prep for trip any help would be great thanks

I would plan for just about anything. It is guaranteed there will be rain at one time or another. I always pack my heavier gear even in the summer. Getting caught on top of the mountains when the weather changes or at night, things chill rapidly.

As long as you want. You are just at the mercy of hotel room availability and their cancellation policy which is listed on post 1 of this thread. If the Alpine Lodge is filled up there are other motels nearby you can check.

This gathering is nothing official just a bunch of people from The Forum meeting up. Hope you can make it.
