Another Man Down!

[quote author=skeeter board=safety thread=23552 post=371637 time=1310100440]I broke both wrists at the same time. Cast on the left for three months. External fixator with two pins into the hand, two in the arm with the adjustment bar holding everything in place... six months. Took me two weeks before I could use the bathroom by myself. quote]
When I was a kid, the Baltimore Colts had a free-wheeling player named Alex Hawkins, who went into radio color commentary after his playing days.

My Dad told me Hawkins lost his on-air job when he was talking about a player who had broken both of wrists. He purportedly said, "...and he found out who his real friends were when he went to the men's room."

Hawkins did leave abruptly so I never questioned it.

My pal broke both wrists on a four wheeler about thirty years ago, It must have been embarrasing getting his mom and freinds to have to help him out in the bathroom.
I told my wife that she has no idea how lucky she is that I only broke one wrist.

That's mild compared to today.

A friend had a hip replacement, and was having trouble, I sent him a flyswatter with some squares duct taped to the flexable end. He said it worked great.

My friends informed me just how close we were while I was waiting to go to x-ray with both wrists in splints.

I'd have my wife install a motorman's friend.

I guess it could double as a drinking fountain also.

Here is an odd side track for you. For many years Bidets had only cold water. . . still wouldn't want to drink it. . . :(

Ring, It ended up I had to ask LOL. That one belonged to a pretty gal's Parents, I had an eye on to marry, but didn't. The person I did ask was her mom..... I don't recall seeing another since, but once in a hotel room I got because they rented my low class room out by mistake. It had that device in the room and a tiny swimming pool too. The pool had water jets, to swim against, but it was made for midgets or something, since all I could do was sit in one corner and ogel my wife sitting in the other corner.

Made my wife look as if she had water wings

The first one I saw was when I was doing glass and mirror work two lifetimes ago. This lady's bathroom was as big as my master bedroom. The sinks were stirling silver. I asked my boss, what the hell is that thing? He said a bidet. I said what's that? and the rest is history.
