More like 5 months of convection oven heat rather than summer. Kind of like our 5 months of winter and 7 months of spring, summer and fall.

I rode halfway to Tahoe yesterday. Beautiful weekend up here so I blasted down to Bend, Oregon. I met Schoeney in The Dalles for lunch and we rode a bit together. I'm headed back home now...just stopped for fuel and coffee. I rode over Snoqualmie pass yesterday about 9:30 am. It was bare, dry and 42 degrees on top...on MARCH 7...!!!

UPDATE:
Got home about 3:15 today. Only made two stops in 365 miles....the first one early when I first posted this....then one in Ellensburg for fuel and lunch. Coming back over Snoqualmie Pass today it was a balmy 62 degrees at the top! 15 hours total ride time over the two days and nothing but blue sky the entire way. It was friggin' chilly leaving Bend this morning though. The time change didn't help as 8:00am today was 7:00am yesterday. It was 30 degrees when I first left and never got over 32 for the first hour and a half...then jumped to the mid 40's and low 50's pretty quickly. Heated gear is the shit....just sayin'...!

John, Grant and I followed Greg on the Rattle Snake ride. We were able to keep up but we had to work at it. We would go slower in the turns and then had to goose it in the straightaways to keep up.

After the ride we all agreed that Greg was trying to take it easy on us and ride slower.

It was also the worst fuel mileage up to that point that any of us had gotten on our travels.

These Sport Touring bikes are just easier to throw around and have so much power it makes up for my average riding skills.

Swap bikes and I would struggle to keep you guys in sight.

The initial challenge was to figure out how to ride my bike slower not faster. I wasn't even trying to ride fast. 90 just feels like 60.

I have since learned how to tone it down. I am riding much slower when I am riding with other people now. I think Kris will attest to that.

Safer and more relaxing for all concerned.

Dave - Bob's bike is faster top end and just as quick if not slightly quicker. Not sure we really need to find out that his goes 157 mph and mine "only" does 142 mph or his 0-60 time is 3.01 and mine is "only" 3.49.

Yes, I have seen the other side of 125 a few times but I really can't think of a good reason to do it again.... except on a track. Going that fast can be a felony, how do you explain that to your family?

I can't claim I'm young and dumb anymore. Because I'm no longer young:cool:

Indeed....slower and more relaxed when riding with others is far more enjoyable. I spent plenty of time last weekend going 75 in a 60 zone...much easier and enjoyable to do when riding solo. I rode with a couple Vic guys from a different LC than mine the weekend before last. Those knuckleheads go balls out all the time no matter who is along. Scraping pipes in every turn, full throttle roll-ons on every corner exit....it's brutal...and no fun for those like me whose riding style is 180 degrees different. What's really bad is that they are the officers (they broke away from my group to form their own)...and they think that is how to lead group rides. They've had some "issues" during some of those rides too, but it doesn't slow them down one bit. I was Jones-ing for a ride that day, but I knew what I was in for. I'm still shaking my head over my choice to join them though.

Riding with Greg is always enjoyable....and I've done quite a lot of it over these last 6-7 years. Wow...did I really just say that....?? He could have dusted me several times on Saturday, but he knows I don't ride like a pimp....so thanks for keeping me in your rear view mirror Greg...!

Leaving you for dead in the twisties is NOT that hard to do . I had a brand new Victory packing double and you guys bitched and moaned that I rode too fast.
