YAHOOOOOO! They are out. As jamiep24 said you do need a bimetal saw to make work short of it. I used the saw with oil(a must) and a 14 volt cordless drill. No problem. Had the both drilled thru in about 10 minutes. The problem was 6 yrs. of carbon. I made a slide hammer and added a 10lb. weight for extra thrust. Pounded for ever. Soaked it overnight with "BLASTER PB penetrating oil". Now as I mentioned before because of my back issue I couldn't continue so my wife asked if she good help. Between the two of us we got'em. We took it for a ride and both and we had big smiles on our faces. Thanks to all.

One of mine was stuck real good. I had my teenage son sit on the bike to steady it and used two large-jaw vice grips (3&9 o'clock grip position) put my feet on the tire and pulled with all I had. As I was giving it, I was thinking this baffle isn't gonna come out but it did and I ended up a foot back on my arse.

For the guys who are really having issues, maybe get a buddy and both of you pull on a vice grip. Have someone watch the bike too.

PITA? Kind of. Worth it? OH HELLS YEAH!

I too am new here are you guys refering to the packing at the very end of the pipes that once drilled out are about 8" long? If so i guess i was lucky got home from a ride to town picked up a big ass hammer and masonry drill from a buddy disabled the hammer feature and had it drilled out in under 10 min. both sides!! I thought i read somewhere about taking a bar and knocking out more baffles deeper in the exhaust pipe. How would you get the pieces out of pipe if you just poke a hole through it with a punch?

Dear fellow nomaders,
I had the same problem, drilled the right side one first. All went well. Tried to pull on baffle and it would not budge! Got out a pair of needle nose vice grips. Locked on to baffle and started to carefully hammer on pliers. I could see that it was starting to come out so I kept this up. Should mention that my wife was sitting on bike so it would not move and supervising my ordeal! the baffle finally came out and thats when I noticed some rust on end of tube and thats why it did not slide out like in video. Just keep tapping away and they will come out.
