Mustang Seat

Mine was a big improvement over stock but not what i hoped. So i went and had an upholstery shop put a gal pad in it. It is a lot better i was able to ride over 300 miles one day with it.

Mustang has a Regal Wide Touring Seat but not for the 07 nomad. I wouldnt mind trying that one.

Mustang Seat

On the $559 price it's $19.95 shipping. That's still pricey, but I haven't seen any anwhere that cheap.
The seat works for some and not others.
I was very reluctant about putting out that much money without knowing if it would work for me. I was relieved, when it worked for me. Comfort is worth every penny.
For me, the stock seat on the '07 Nomad is relatively comfortable, way more so than the stock on the Classic. It is nice to have the back rest option too.

Mustang Seat

Concerning the Mustang Seat,
My wife got me one for Christmas, with the back rest. It fit perfectly.
Christmas day I went for a short ride, about 120 miles, and I could really tell the difference.
Maybe not so much the seat itself but the backrest is a definite inprovement. I just need to bring the bars back about an inch or so.
Weather in Tennessee was around 45 degrees and sunny, and made for a nice ride.

I hope Christmas found all of you in good health and surrounded by your family and friends, best wishes for a happy new year.

Shep

According to Mustangs customer service their biggest complaints for the 1600 Nomad come from big riders. They say that because of the limited front to back space due to the stretched tank they are limited in the size of the seat.

A friend of mine has the Regal on his Road King, wasnt sure if they offered it for the Nomad or not. Its alot softer than my Mustang seat.
I second the rider backrest tho. I'll never be without one if I ride. Also keep in mind that there is a "break-in" period with any seat. Put at least 1k on it before passing judgement.

Mustang Seat

I love the Mustang seat. Had one on my last 2 bikes. I didn't need to get the one with a backrest I've got the backrest that can be for a passenger or push it forward and it's just for me. The only problem I had was with the Conchos on both sides. Had the seat for over a year and started noticing something didn't look right on the top of the saddlebag, it started looking dull. I figured out the back Concho the leather was long enough to slap the top of bag when going down the road and it dulled the paint. Had to cut about inch off so it wouldn't hit anymore then do some big time buffing to get color back right. Anybody had this happen to them?

I was warned of the same problem. So, a dab of silicone sealant between the leather strips and then a dab behind the rear one. I tucked them around and behind the seat and let it dry. You can't tell that they have been modified. If I ever want to put them back, the silicone will peal off.

Mustang Seat

The absolute best seat I've ever owned was an "Ultimate Seat". Trouble is they don't make them for Kawasaki's. I was told they might in the future. They are pricey, but I did 2549 miles in five days with NO discomfort on a VTX 1300.

My mistake. I just came from the Ultimate Seat website and starting in April they will be making seats for 1500 & 1600 Nomads. Trust me, their seats are fantastic. They make one for the really BIG guys. Like I said , the one I put on the VTX was over $650 but worth every dollar. I'm saving pennys and putting one on my 04. Check out ultimateseats.com.
