Thanks for all the responses you guys. I did not intend to hijack this thread.
I am not looking for louder....I had loud pipes when I had my 900....did not like it and ended up putting my stockers back on and selling the aftermarket pipes at a loss. I like the idea of a deeper but not louder tone.....I just don't really like the idea of not being able to go back if I don't like. I may see if I can pick up some stock pipes real cheap on E-Bay first. If I can't find any...I may still go a head and drill. I did pick up a left side filter cover for $20 on E-Bay a while back. I used it to drill holes around the bottom edge of the cover to allow extra/cooler air to enter the intake....This is something I had done on my 900 and liked it....Also, I know that Blowndodge had done it to his as well. But I still have my original cover if I want to put it back. Thanks Guys

When I debaffled mine, I bought a complete, take-off exhaust system to keep around "just in case" for about $100. You never know when the government may crackdown on such things. I could switch the mufflers out and be back to 100% stock in less than an hour.

Hi, I spoke to the guy that I always take my bikes to for a safety. He told me that as long as my exhaust is "complete" he would safety the bike. Not sure what complete means. I doubt if most (non Kawasaki) shops would know if you had done a bafflectomy of the stock system.

that sounds like a good idea cactusjack. i think that is the approach i will take. i lost most of my hearing in nam and i think that the debaffled mufflers are at the decibel level that irritates my hearing. that low drone. at freeway speeds its okay but driving around town is when it bothers me the most...

I like my debaffled pipes. I also like the sound of V/H.....but not on my bike as I would tire of it on longer trips.
