Welcome old timer from another old timer up in the cold, wet country. After having customized quite a few bikes, spending a small fortune in the process, I have not yet decided whether or not to do any significant performance upgrades on my Nomad.
I had to smile when you mentioned the Valkyrie. I was looking at a real beauty too at the Triumph dealership It was chromed out to the max with 5900 miles on it. I picked it up off the kickstand though and that was the end of that. It felt like it weighed 1500 pounds. The Nomad was right next to it.

Welcome aboard Ken.
By coincidence I learned to ride at about the same age on my older brother's Honda 65. Here in Alberta, way back then you could legally ride a motorcycle under 100 CC at age 14 with just a learner's permit. Times have changed!

Thanks for the welcome guys.
Took the bike out yesterday to try out the plexiglass engine guard lowers I made. 46 degrees and I was very comfortable with very little helmet buffeting. Just need a little better gloves and something to keep my cheeks warm (the face, not the others). The lowers are pretty much invisible on the bike and really helped a lot. Today, I hooked up the pigtail for the schumacher 1.5 amp charger from wal-mart and fixed my slime pump to hook up on the same pigtail. You guys have already done all the trial and error work, I get to buy the right things the first time instead of blowing money on things that don't work. Thanks again to everyone. Ken |
