9600 on original stones. Rear almost out of tred, front looks good. As soon as weather breaks, a new Metzler goes on the rear and if I can come up with the scratch, on the front too.

Orginal stones 11,176 on the front and only 7890 on the rear. Replaced the front with a Dunlop Elite II and it got 16,255. Replaced the rear with a Dunlop Elite III and it got 14,969. Could have gotten more but I replaced them both before we left for our vacation last summer. I now have 13,030 on both the front and rear and have a set of Dunlop Elite 3's on the rack to be install when needed.

3,000 miles on original stones with 4mm tread left on rear and 4.5mm on front. Manual says to replace rear at 2mm and front at 1mm. Going to try Avon Cobra's next. Any opinions?

Tyre milage

I dumped the rear 'Stone after 6500 miles, but I ran the front one for over 25,000 miles and it still had tread on it. It was cupped and noisy, but it wasn't bald by any means.

Now I run Metzlers and the rear has over 12,000 while the front has about 6000 miles. I don't think the tread will last as long as the 'Stones, but they definately ride better.

::) I've never got better than 7500mi. on Bridgestones Rear,on the 07 I changed Rear at 6800. I also tried Dunlap 404's on the 02 they were worse 6500 and lousy ride, both front & rear wore quickly on the Dunlap's. On the Metzler 880 02 I had 9000 on the rear & probably could have gone to1100 or 1200 at most front tires usually double rear except for the Dunlap's. Also I never push the envelope when it comes to tires. I now have the stock Bridgestone on the front w/13000 mi & Metz radial on rear w/about 6500mi and looks real good. I like the ride, handling, & wear characteristics of the Metzler tires. I have also spoken with Guy's who've used & liked Pirelli & Michelin. For me I think I'll stick with the Metzler's till I hear of something that will outlast them and give as good handling. I know that the Venom's perform well
but they don't wear as well as the Metz. If I get 10,000 out of the Metz rear I'll be happy, anything over I'll consider a bonus.
Also I have been using 36psi Front 42psi Rear with rear shocks at 28psi and rebound at 3. I weigh about 195lbs.Wife about 145lbs. and I ride 2 up 70% of the time. Ck. tire pressure before every ride. m2cw

One thing about the stock Stones, the last bunch of tread goes fast, way fast.

I remember being in Ogalala Neb. and it looking like I was getting near the end, but just fine. By the time I got to Salt Lake, (the long route, but all in one day) I was shocked to see that I was completely flat on the rear, no tread left.

That was my first go around when the Nomad was new, and I had no idea that in one day (900 mile day) that I could completely go through the rest of the tire.

Watch that last bit, it seems to go way fast. I was ready for it on subsequent tires.
Yikes! I'm not even getting the same mileage out of the stock stones as I did on the 1500. I got 10,000 miles, 5 times over on my 1500.

Yesterday I gave my tire a good look and it needs replacing, and I'm only at 5,900 miles.

As I said earlier, the last 1,000 miles it goes from looking fine to worn out in just a 1,000 miles. I was expecting to get 10,000 miles, and thought that I was nowhere near needing replacing, so I was shocked.

Don't know what the difference is, but I thought that I'd have another 4,000 miles left.
