I agree with all these posts.....

1. Go synthetic
2. Pre-load the shifter with pressure before pulling in the clutch
3. Use your heel (at least for 1st to 2nd)
4. Don't be wimpy with shifting gears.

try mobile one v twin oil you will be amazed how much better it is and i think all bikes should have a neutral finder
Switched over to Mobil1 V-twin & Mobil1 filter this weekend... the difference was immediate!!! Smoothest shift I've ever had on the bike!!

As Ron says, push that heel shifter down hard. She'll soften up in time. Mobil 1 V-Twin also beneficial like JustMatt said.

Thanks for all the advice guys,

When you say pre load the shifter I'm assuming that i apply a small amount of pressure with my heel on the shifter then pull in clutch and then shift down hard with my heel??

Next dry day i will have to experiment, thats if we ever get a dry day, ever since i bought the bike I've never watch the weather forecast so much in my life lol

In a very short time you will find that you are more skilled at predicting the weather that the most seasoned "weatherdork" on TV!!! I've got 3-4 different sites w/ radar images and forecasts and I trust myself more than them anyday! Not to mention the rain gear in the side bag!! LOL!!

I'm not to bothered about me getting wet, but i think i would cry if my Nomad got wet, it must take hours to clean a nomad if you get it wet.

1st to 2nd Gear change

Just returned from a ride and was much better with the 1st to 2nd gear change, i was more positive with the gear change and it was a vast improvment, next service will make sure synthetic oil goes in to see if it improves further.
