pluging tire question

I used the Stop and Go to mushroom plug my rear tire 2 months ago. Has not last any air since then.
The plug didn't "set" at first since it had a slow leak (bubbles in the spit) but after I yanked on it a few more times with the pliers, it's been fine.

I would think since you had a hard time getting the rasp in, you puncture is small, so it must be something on the inside preventing the plug from setting.

pluging tire question

Also never done a motorcycle tire, but used lots of them doing my other wintertime hobby (four wheeling). Once did a repair on someone's rented 4X4 I came across on the trail. He had a big sidewall cut and I used 7 of the black rope plugs. It held long enough to get him back to civilization. Wouldn't have tried it but his spare was blown/shredded too.

Haven't had a single failed attempt with the black rope type plugs and some of them I was really questioning whether it would work or not.

disclaimer. The only reason I tried a sidewall repair using plugs was to get him out of the desert and at least somewhat closer to a service station. I wouldn't try a sidewall repair on anything that was going to be driven much over a walking speed. It got him out to the highway before it gave out so served it's purpose.

pluging tire question

Two years ago I used the brown rope type plug on a front tire just to get it to the dealer for a new tire and it held air. Everyone said don't run with a plug so I didn't. By the way I had a screw in the tire.

You're right. It's a broadhead from an arrow. You can see the slots in it where the blades were.

You are right, I should have known that from my archery days.

For some reason I keep hearing mumbling from California.
Can't make out the words, just a low indistinguishable annoying noise of some sort. ::)
