Too much air and the 1700 get really stiff and uncomfortable. Experiment with lower pressure and the rebound rate. My wife only complained once and 5 PSI less made that go away. When traveling with the bike loaded the extra 5 PSI didn't bother her.

I will experiment with both rebound rates and shock air pressure and see what happens. I like the suggestion about modifying the backrest or replacing it with the one from Mustang. That would compliment my Mustang seat, too.
