Be warned when parking in tourist areas

I don't know how true the story is, but I heard about a guy one time who came out of a store to find a guy and gal taking turns sitting their child on his bike to take pictures. When confronted, they essentially ignored him for the last few seconds and finally got off and walked toward their mini-van.

The rider, in a brilliant stroke of genius, followed them. When they unlocked the vehicle, he popped open the passenger door and hopped right in - dirty boots and all, and started fiddling with the controls on the dash, opening the glove box, reaching over and tweaking the windshield wipers, etc.

The couple went ballistic and called the police. When a policeman arrived, he was also on a motorcycle.

After the motorcycle owner described what happened, the couple's complaint basically went ignored. They were told never to do it again and to leave. No ticket for the bike owner.

Like I said, I don't know how true that is, but I thought it was a funny story. And I'd do the exact same thing!

Last year at Sturgis, we were walking down main street, saw another "biker" stand up on the seat of another bike. He had one foot on the seat and the other one one the tank! he was up there to take a picture ! When he got off, he kicked the turn-signal of the harley he was on and broke it off ! he kinda half-assed tried to put it back together. I'm pretty sure it wasnt his bike , cuz he walked off so fast, i didnt even get the chance to holler over to him .

I love that story and I agree great way to handle it...

As for the Strugis guy he would have to be a nut to take a chance like that I imagine if the owner had seen him he could very easily been a "Strugis Tragedy"

Be warned when parking in tourist areas

The shame is the lack of respect for other's property happens all the time. Years ago I came out of a movie theater to find a woman (not a lady) sitting on the hood of my car while talking to some of her friends. They were all in their 30's and only smirked when I yelled at them to get off my car. It really burned me up, but as there wasn't any damage and they were leaving, I didn't do anything other than continue to let them know that they were mindless scum.
I still see this type of thing at work. I work at a body shop and am amazed at how often people will lean against a total strangers car, while lamenting the damage that someone has done to theirs...
