Rear Oil Drain Bolt Question

Many oil drain bolts have a cooper or aluminum washer on them that is a crush gasket. On my Miata it has one. When I got to get a new oil filter there, the guy (who is an enthusiast) always gives me a new gasket for the drain bolt on the house. Says they charge like a $ for it but he feels it should be given with every filter to customers and it only cost them a few cents anyway and they have TONS on hand in the garage. I have a couple of spares in the parts bin. Another reason I go there to get filters instead of Wally World etc.
Glad you got it fixed Gene, and found that gasket. The fact that it MAY not have been there since you changed it last is just luck!!! They are included for a reason. Are you sure you didn't drop it in the drain pan again?? HMMM....what?? LOL...

If you can get one locally that works fine then you have a resource in future which is always good.

Rear Oil Drain Bolt Question

Once again I appreciate the responses. Ace Hardware had one for 17 cents. That is about as cheap a part as you will find.
