How nice that the insurance company is so concerned for your welfare. And they get more money from you in return. Shouldn't it be your choice whether to insure your bike just for the riding season? Of course if there's no insurance coverage on it, it wouldn't be covered if the roof collapsed or the garage burned down, but isn't that YOUR problem, not THEIRS?

Just sayin'...

Here in NE Georgia, I ride 12 months. Anything above 28 degrees is good, the only time I don't ride is if it's raining when I get up, or the wife has plans for me.

Nope, because after a snow storm when the roof caves in, 75% of the people will call up and tell their agent that he should have advised them to keep insurance on their bike all year...

No, I don't sell insurance.

It's a matter of personal responsibility, or the lack of personal responsibility in society.

Here is my take.
The agent should tell them that it is not covered for theft or fire etc but if you still want to insure for only 6 months that is up to you.
The reason I insure for the whole year is it is a pia to re- register and get new plates.

I usually drop my coverage to a storage coverage that my insurance offers. It still covered, but saves me about $200 for the 4 months that it's parked.

I insure the bike all year. Difficult to be able to ride due to ice and snow on the road from mid Nov to end of March. Sometimes the road clears off and I can ride. If I had no insurance that would be too risky for me. It is much easier to just pay for the full year.

I insure mine for the full 12 months (Progressive). In Oklahoma, the worst months for cold are Feb and the first of March. January has a few nice days scattered throughout it, so I'll get a couple days riding in.

We don't have a choice here in Ontario, we only have 12 month policy's. Its expensive for what we ride here as well, I pay $800.00 for minimum coverage.
