clock and trip odometer resets

Mine did exactly the same thing as you described early last year. Turned out to be bad battery cable connections to the frame. All has been well since!

clock and trip odometer resets

I put new battery in, problem did not occur after installation. I had checked all connections and found no loose connections, so I think mine was a bad battery. I ride everyday even in 110+ temps, so I don't think 3.5 years is not too bad for the original battery. Got the AGM battery from Batteries Plus.

Now go git that Shumaker charger and hook it up all nice and use it. Walley world 20 bucks Shumaker auto float, anti sulfation pulse charger, 14dcv at 1.5 amps..........

And in about 8 years let me know how that new battery is working out out fer ya! 'D
